A Comprehensive Framework and Approaches for Enhancing Mental Health in Medical Students

Research suggests that medical students frequently experience mental health problems such as stress, burnout, and depression, which may, in turn, affect suicidal ideation behaviors. Since profoundly impact academic achievement professionalism, it is vital to understand factors influencing students’ identify strategies provide the necessary support. Some relevant range from personal level, including gender, personality traits, perfectionism, social support, environmental grading system, educational phases, exposure patients’ death, mistreatment, culture of medicine. In this regard, a comprehensive support system encompasses interventions, well personal-level needed. Simultaneously, proactive approaches address improvement self-care alleviation systemic burdens are essential, together with predominant reactive focusing on deficits. Altogether, we proposed framework for enhancing constructed by four categories (personal-reactive, environmental-reactive, personal-proactive, environmental-proactive) based intervention level goal All have important implications, one cannot replace other, but expanding environmental-proactive will allow more learn how pursue independently. We expect could expand systems professional development.
